Are all Homelite Bar cover plate nuts 3/8" - 16? I have a Super XL 10045-A in need of new nuts (stop laughing). The part number I have is 81099-2 but I have not been able to find it on ebay without a crazy price associated ( i.e. big bucks $$) and the local HW store only has these short height nuts in this size ( e.g., 5/16" side height). I would love to find a tall 1/2" high 3/8" - 16 Hex nut and I have through McMaster website but the price is crazy ( i.e. $5 ea. + $12 shipping).
Does anybody have a list ( cross reference chart) that states which Homelite part #s are 3/8" - 16 hex head nuts for cover plates? Most of the ebay listings give a part # but then how do you cross reference that to the actual size ( e.g., 3/8" - 16)? Please tell me they are all 3/8" -16 and my issue goes bye - bye ( i.e., can buy any of the listings).
This is crazy, it is a simple 3/8" - 16 thread and should not be this hard to find or as expensive (big $$$).
Thanks

No they are not all 3/8. Some older and some smaller saws used 5/16 nuts. Any 3/8 NC nut will work but if you use a std nut that takes a 9/16 wrench, it's best to use a good flat washer behind them. If you want the OEM Homelite part, it's 81089-2.
