When it was running I tested it with and without the bar/chain. Once running I put bar/chain on to set idle.

Put rebuilt carb on older running saw. Warmed up and adjusted. Old saw runs great now. Gonna test it again tomorrow when it's cold. Looks like you are right. Rebuilt saw is sucking air. Won't run now. So frustrating.

Have you ever pressure tested the block?

I have not pressured the block. Not sure how to do that. The one that won't run is electronic ignition.

Just to make sure we are on the same page: Summary: The saw that you re-built, the Super EZAO and is electronic ignition and NOW it will not run AT ALL with a good carb you removed from another. But the other saw will run OK with your re-built carb? If all the above is correct we are down to at the very least getting a max of 5psi into the Super EZAO's block as read on a 0-10# gauge, because it's never been pressure/vac tested. (assuming it still has good spark)You will have to use a Golf Tee or something similar for the compression relief fitting hole and do not expect to get it sealed good, just ignore any leakage from it, get it sealed enough that you can use soap and water to look for other air leaks while the block has around 3-5psi. I made up block off plates for the Carb and inject air into the exhaust port with a 1/8 inch NPT to hose barb fitting. I used aluminum plates and inner tube rubber or you can use gasket material. If you are going to piddle with 2 cyles engines and automotive, doing your own repairs and testing you need to get a Mity Vac dual Vac/Pressure pump eventually. (about $65 or so with fitting and carrying case) A mityvac will last you several years with just little bit of TLC. I use a small engine fuel filter in the vac line when doing vacuum to keep small particles from getting sucked inside and messing up the check valves. (also be careful when bleeding brakes and not get brake fluid inside)The better Mity Vac can be kitted internally, but mine is several years old and never been kitted. the cheaper ones cannot be kitted. Maybe some others will chime in with pointer about pressure testing your EZ and you might look for a you tube video. (but do take what you see on you tube with a grain of salt)or a stiff big slug of good whiskey Get yourself a toolbox or tackle box for storage and keep your pressure vac stuff and block off plates where your can find them later. You will eventually collect several pump fitting and block of plates, etc. You can just use your blood pressure bulb for now and I sometimes use a automotive gauge such as this and you can get it at most any auto parts store. www.ebay.com/itm/363664059949?hash=item54ac112e2d:g:N48AAOSwg8lhweG7You are starting off the New Year correct getting greasy and into a Homie.

Thanks for the info. I've not done some of these procedures before. I've currently bought a couple of OEM Walbro carburetor rebuild kits to compare my aftermarket ones to.
Yes you are correct with which saw is which. The newer saw with electronic ignition died and won't run now. It does spark but immediately dies. I believe you are correct in that it is sucking air from somewhere. I appreciate the knowledge on pressure testing the cylinder. I will get on that asap.
I currently have 7 SEZs, 1 EZ 250, a super2, an XL1, a Super Mini VI, a 150 automatic, a Super XL, a 360, a Super XL 925, a 955 VI, and an Echo 271T. 4 of these run good. Some run but crappy, and some don't run at all.
I seriously want to thank you for putting up with my pestering and willingly taking the time to dish out information. I look forward to working with you anytime in the future on these saws.
Funny you should mention whiskey. Got some as a Christmas present. Will probably need it.
Have a happy new year! Thanks so much!

Keep us informed of your latest testing results, good or bad?
You will be a Homie expert by the time you get that pile of saws running.
Patience is your friend.
