I've been looking for an excuse to order an induction tach, I'm off the week after Christmas and providing its I - 30c in Alberta I'll load up a few if each and go play, maybe those crazy Québécois at the trerry plant messed with port timing and such, lol most of my 76/sxl-130s are above 170psi, which is pretty good for their age, even have a vi200 that's just under 190... Even took that one apart to see if carbon was built up to give it such a high reading.. Lol

That is interesting that peak HP would occur that much higher than the cutting speed listed for the 123 given the model similarity. If the 130 and 76 can actually cut at 8000 RPM, they would be significantly faster. It would be interesting to put a tach on one and dig in a bit. I've often wondered what improvements beyond carburetion and ignition might have been made on the 76 & 130 after the 123 was discontinued in the US. And can't say for sure about the 130, but some of the other peak horse power numbers in the Terry brochure match cutting speed in textron documents, xl12/sxl at 6000, super mini peak horsepower @7000 vs the super ez cutting speed at 7000.. Etc, but who knows when going through homelite documentation ive seen many contradictions

This is a good example of contradicting information one is xl-103 specs from an American brochure and the other is xl103 specs from Australian documentation, they even list chain speed, it's like homelite wanted to give people a headache decades later.. Lol

All great info thanks folks. Sounds like there are some people around that have played with these a day or two I figured out how to post a couple pics. Here's the old gal. I really think its had quite light use over the years. Nathan Attachments:

I run 40:1 in my other Stihl saws. Is that fine for this saw? Thanks again

In my opinion. Yes absolutely 40:1 is a safe ratio
