My first Homelite, $ 30.00 find. I baked the blue module last night, cleaned and gapped the old plug and with fresh 32:1 fuel it runs!! Only thing is, the clutch engages even when pulling it over, so chain always spins. A few questions: 1. is this a 1980 model? 2. clutch looks to have 3 'dogs' I ca see at the sproket edge, so do I have a spring problem in the clutch? 3. I can't find a parts diagram for this specific model so, is ther another model that has identical parts? I plan on taking this saw on fly in moose hunts to create paths for meat hauling. We pay $1.50/lbs over our allotted 100 lbs per person, so a nice light saw with attitude is best. Thanks in advance!! Attachments:

Take bar and chain off, and clutch cover, can you spin the sprocket by hand? If not bearing might be dry

Thanks for the reply. I can spin the chain and sprocket by hand and when I cleaned out the clutch cover and that side of the machine, everything had a lot of oil/dust on everything. I am guessing that the roller bearing is good.

Look what I discovered. Will a similar looking clutch from an XL1 or XL12 work on this super mini? Thanks. Attachments:

If I lived in the states that would solve my dilemma, but Canadian dollars and shipping means approx. $ 75.00 CDN shipped. I can get the xl1 and xl12 for almost nothing. Will their clutches work? Thanks.

If you put another S-clutch on it, good chance it'll break too. As far as I can tell with the S-clutch, it's not a matter of "if" it'll break, it's just a matter of when it breaks.
They were replaced by a 98132 3-shoe clutch years ago. Get you one of those and it'll be fixed.

I found 2 saws for sale for $ 50.00, an xl1 and xl12, might see what clutches they have and hope for the best. But if I have problems, I will contact you XL130! Thanks.

Hey XL130, the 2 saws I was checking don't have a good clutch that would fit so I declined. Did you have one in your parts? Thanks.
