I have had to make replacement fuel and oil cap gaskets for my three XL’s.
What adhesive do you use to keep the cork gasket on the plastic cap? Hot glue gun? I’m concerned epoxy may dissolve in gas or oil over time. I guess I could use gasket sealer as an adhesive.

You must have loose fitting gaskets if they keep falling off.Rather than use something you may regret later on,why not just buy 3 new fuel & oil gasket sets for your saws?I'm sure Leon has the gaskets needed,if not I know they're on Feebay. If neither Leon nor Feebay has them I know a guy who does.PM me if needed.

I have 3 saws, 6 caps. 2 caps which i purchased, three old ones I had to make gaskets for, and one works fine still has original gasket in place.
The two caps I purchased (not from Leon) came with loose gaskets that fall off. The caps fit the tanks well but cork gaskets are loose and were not attached to the cap when they came in the mail.
The new caps I don’t believe are original homelite-not sure.
I’m going to gift a couple of these out and those gaskets will quickly get lost.
I will try gasket sealer as an adhesive

Try making the inside cut smaller, I've never seen these glued to the caps.
