Hi Homer I had never heard of a bar shop grinder until you mentioned it so I had a look on Google and found a video of one. What a great bit of kit I'm sure that would sort it out. Trouble is where I am it's a challenge to get the correct round files let alone find a machine like that. It would appear that to get a replacement bar I have to order from the US because so far no one has them here. I will get there in the end. Thanks for your help and advice Best wishes William

Stens , an after-market supplier , also sells a 24" bar for the Oregon D-196 mount . Their part number is 075-2447 . I purchased one for
my SXL AO and while it is Chinese made , it has fit and functioned OK . Oregon's part number for their 24" bar is 240RNDD196 if there
is an Oregon supplier in the UK . Another source is Archer out of Australia , but I don't have a part number for that one .
Both Oregon and Stens have other parts for the SXL saws like air filters , clutch drums and chains .

Hi it's Will just a quick update on the super xl auto. I discovered that the bar was worn on more on one rail than the other allowing the chain to lean over. I used a hammer and large solid metal block and closed the rail gap from the worn side . I so far it's cutting most of the way with only a small deviance. I will continue fettling it but it's at least usable now Best wishes William
