Just wanted to say thanks and express appreciation to Leon from Leon’s Chainsaw Parts and Repair and various members of this forum for assistance in bringing my 330 back from the dead.
I purchased this saw in about 1985 and cut firewood for heating for about 10 years. We then moved to a house with a gas fireplace and it sat on a shelf in the garage since then. We recently upgraded to a wood burning fireplace so wanted to see if I could get my 330 running again. After watching Leon’s excellent video on tearing down a 330 to replace the carburetor boot I successfully accomplished that repair, plus did a rebuild of the carb, replaced fuel and impulse hoses and replaced the fuel filter. After completing all this, the saw would start so investigated and found it had no spark. I found I had the wires on the switch reversed (yes, this makes a difference), and after rectifying this the saw now starts and runs. Thanks to posts on this forum I figured out how the ignition system was supposed to work. I got the carb tuned also using Leon’s video. The saw wasn’t initially pumping oil but after 5 minutes of running it started putting oil on the chain.
Thanks again everyone! My saw is operational once again.

Congrats. Good firewood saws. They are definitely a little different but I like them. I have a few and grab them when I see them. Leon has definitely kept a lot of old saws out of the landfill with those videos. He must be busy because he hasn't uploaded one in a few weeks.
