I seems that a lot of the Super EZ/Super Mini oil pumps (part # 65212, casting #65086) have a LOT of some kind of sealing compound bonded on the casting. I have seen it on the o-rings side, and on the side between the 2 screws. The nipple versions have it around the tube where it comes out the casting. I have seen pictures of new in box pumps that have this compound on them. Is this something the factory did? Is there a service bulletin for leak problems and fixes by doing this? I am tempted, but hesitant to remove it on my pump.

Don't remove it, it's completely normal. Looks like JB Weld or the like so probably some kind of metal filled epoxy.
I've never seen one leak but as time goes by I'm finding that my list of "never happens" is getting shorter.
If I had to repair one for a leak, I'd clean it up good and JB Weld it.

I was just concerned it could be a quick hack job repair for a leak. I would want to replace it if that is the case. There were a lot of messed up problems on my Super Mini when I got it. Seems a lot of pumps have this on them, so it must be a factory assembly proceedure or service bulletin repair??
