I fix up a couple old chainsaws and mowers a year as a hobby, pass them on to friends and neighbors for free or cost. Biggest benefit is getting some time alone in the garage. I just picked up this absolutely beautiful 1981 (I think) Super EZ Auto. What a work of art. However, the chain cover is broken off. The bar is still retained, who knows what happened. Clearly not safe to use. The previous owner found it in his crawlspace and after chatting for a bit, gave it to me for free along with another saw I was buying. Has compression but needs a full out clean up, new fuel lines, I'm sure a carb rebuild. I love that it has a Homelite brand chain. What does the OEM cover look like? Do I need to be picky, or find one that matches off ebay and snag it? Thanks All Attachments:

It looks earlier than a 1981, approximately a 1975 model . If you're not picky eBay has some Homelite 65131 covers that should fit .

Thanks Terry. The serial is 41891623. I think that means 1974 rather than 81. I’m not super picky about the cover other than it would be nice to have the color match. I think I need to clean it with atf and simple green to get a better idea of overall condition.

Date of Manufacture: Monday, July 8th, 1974 The drive-case cover would be similar to the one below, earlier versions were Red and White to match the starter cover.

Still looking.... I’m fine with the older two tone or the correct solid color, ideally with some light wear. All of the ones on eBay have cracks around the mounting holes (usually undisclosed) or are in totally beat up shape.
