Is there a special shorter scrench for these model chainsaws? The standard length one does not clear the handle to get to the sparkplug. Any pics or sources for one appreciated!

That was a downfall with the EZ family saws - a normal scrench wouldn't work.I don't know if Homelite had a special "stubby" scrench they supplied?I've found that a 5/8 spark plug socket will work though, but you must use a short extension on the socket in order to get the ratchet on.

Yes they did make a short scrench just for the super ez. However you can just use the box end of a 5/8 wrench to get the plug out with little issue.

I use a 5/8 box end wrench. fits in good. Possibly I got lucky on the angle of the wrench I have.

Been using a box wrench on the bench. Just thinking about field use and would prefer to not lose my box wrench!

IPL shows # A-24284 Combination Wrench as the correct tool . Looks like the scrench that came with my Expandit chain saw attachment .

Edit : Measured mine and it's 5/8" x 3/4" hex and 1 3/8" long

The short wrench is a 24284, should't be hard to come by.
