I put this one on the shelf as a parts saw but the other day came across the parts to repair it. The brake flag was broken and the rear handle mount was cracked. Got both parts for it. Didn't think that would happen. Now I'll have to put them on and have runner. VI Super Mini by Clasec, on Flickr VI Super Mini RH by Clasec, on Flickr VI Super Mini -1 by Clasec, on Flickr

As it turns out, I needed the inner vibration mount for mine (the one that bolts to the drivecase and cylinder head. It came off the same saw on eBay, how funny is that. Looks like he took a perfectly good VI Super Mini and parted it out; probably could of got more money for it as a good running saw.
PS. I only waited like 4 years for this damn part.

What is the rear handle large black lever out the dorsal side's function? Never understood what that is about?? It's the operator presence lever. The throttle is locked until it is depressed.

That lever eliminates the possibility of cutting your leg or god knows what else while carrying a saw. It’s not uncommon to have a branch or brush go up into the throttle area when your maneuvering around a downed tree. Wide open throttle inches away from your major arteries is a bad combo!

So its like a grip safety on a 1911 pistol? Interesting it didn't show up as a regular feature on all models.

So its like a grip safety on a 1911 pistol? Interesting it didn't show up as a regular feature on all models. This is because this model was built and marketed in Canada, whose safety regulations ie. ANSI, preceded similar regs here in the US (if I'm not mistaken). So chain brakes and throttle locks came out first in Canada.

Nice saw. I picked up one of these just the other day. Wasn't sure what I had since it was so filthy. Cleaned it up and then the bad news was clear. Missing nearly all the brake parts. I guess the guy didn't like it! A quick search and I realized this was gonna have to go on the shelf for another day. Your post gave me hope that I'll find some parts and make it a runner one day. Mine isn't pretty, but I would like to get it going again. Pretty neat Canadian built saw. (Oh and I just found this forum via Leons Chainsaw Parts. First post!)
