I got directed to this forum recently, after picking up a 750. I picked it up at a estate sale, not knowing anything about it. It’s a runner but I wanted to clean in up since it’s sitting for who knows how long. From doing research here on the board, it’s a 1978 built on July 15th I think...
I started taking some of the body parts off to clean the oil/sawdust build up off. After I clean the 1/4” layer of grim from the top of the saw a name appeared etched in the saw, Barry Lawrence. I then took off the start/pull handle assembly and it was again etched on the back side “Barry Lawrence 37v”. After doing some more cleaning more etchings on top of the air intake, this time saw B&B Porting???
Any clue as to what these etchings are or who Barry is?? Newbie here...I’m thinking it’s just a guys name that liked to label things....

Welcome to HOH! More than than likely it was just an identifier...I've lost count of how many SSN#'s I've found over the years!
