I took a 16 in.chain off a blue & white XL-12 that I had to look at more than once.The # on the drive links was 9L.At first I thought it read 91 which didn't make sense because I could clearly tell it wasn't light enough to be a 91 chain.I've looked at all the charts here in this section & the closest I could come up with was a 9AL,but that's an .058 gauge chain.

Ed, I believe the code 9L refers to a Zip-Penn chain that is 3/8 pitch .050 gauge. semi chisel. Zip Penn is now sold under the name Laser.

Thank you Charles! Ah yes,Zip Penn,originally not far from me in Erie,Pa.I have an original Zip Penn hardnose 16 in.bar that was on my first red EZ.Probably a collector's item by now,Lol.It still has all the stencil writing on it & is in great shape.
