An opportunity arose for me to buy a brand new replacement clutch for my 550 from the bay of E. Funds duly dispatched and the clutch turns up - it was sold as 'suitable for a 550' amongst others. Having come to swap it over today, it doesn't fit, so I'm in the process of sending it back to the seller but I thought I'd check on here first. I've bought Oregon part number 17344 which after a quick Google, shows as: store.chainsawr.com/products/oregon-17344-clutch-rim-sprocket-drum-3-8-new-fits-homelite-450-550-chainsaws-sprocket-box-fThe wear part (where the clutch plates would rub/hold) is not as deep as my (fitted) clutch drum and also the bearing provided won't go on my drive shaft with the (fitted) inner race. I've tried my old bearing in the new clutch with my race, but also that won't fit and I can't fit the new clutch without the race. The Homelite part number is A-94117 so does anyone know if the Oregon 17344 should be a direct replacement? It's definitely a 17344 he's shipped to me as it's stamped on the drum.

Thanks!
Are those 3 codes for the same item or how do they differ? I can see the last one is for .404, so I'm guessing that is the difference for that one. But how do the 30666 and 12520 differ? Are they for 3/8?
There might be 94117 drums on eBay - but I'm in the UK and they are in the States and I'm not desperate for one just yet.

They are all from Oregon catalogs. 12520 and 21427 are the same except for the rim supplied.
30666 is the later number. I suspect they changed numbers as they applied the part to more models.
There's always the issue with some Homelites having different clutches over the same model and different crankshaft diameters which required different races.

Thanks, not a simple case of getting the right clutch first time then!
