I did manage to find the time today to put the new rewind spring in the recoil housing for the C91.It went together so easy till it came time to put tension on it.I've never seen a more difficult recoil to put tension on than that piece of .... work. There must be a trick to it that I don't know about, but it's done & going back on the saw.

What type of starter is on that saw? Tensioning I can usually do fairly easily but getting the pulley on over the spring is the part that usually causes me to turn green.
Edit- just read the first post.....never messed with one of those starters.

It has an overrunning bearing starter.Getting the pulley on the spring was a piece of cake, getting the rope to come back in to wind the tension was the PITA.

I finally got around to putting the original recoil back on the C91 today.I checked to see if the fan housing from a C5 would swap over & the answer to that is NO.The outside dimensions are the same, but the overrunning bearing pulley measures 4 1/2 in.across (approx.) & the C5 pulley measures 3 3/4 in.across (approx.). I found an old Oregon Armor Tip bar that I think God used when he made the world,Lol.I put that on with a half-shot .404 chain as that was all I had on hand.I'll try to get some pics on here tomorrow. BTW,what is a #2 signify that's stamped on the drive links?
