Loosen the tension on the chain or take the bar off and if the idling changes with chain tension or gets better with the chain off the clutch side seal is leaking. Also a hint of leaking/seeping crankshaft seal is if you tip/tilt the saw while it's idling and the idling changes or get erratic.
Cure for such to find the air leak for sure.
Get your self a Mityvac that does both pressure and Vacuum, rig up block off seals on the saws, carb, muffler inject 3-5 lbs pressure (not over 5) and soap test. Check around the EZ's jug to block gasket really good. Most will have a seep here and if tightening the 4 nuts does not stop a gasket will be required. You will have to thin down a 1/2 12 point end wrench to tighten one or two of them nuts. Check the crank seals while rotating the crank if they are not leaking at rest. The clutch side seal is the usuall leaker. It can be replaced with the crank in place. See you tube for such. You will see a seep or air/bubbles at the compression release pintle, just hold it in tight and check all else. Seepage here at the comp release is normal and won't effect the idle. If after all of this and erratic you will need another carb unless you might want to try replacing the check valve in the carb. Normally not a serviceable item but available for about $10
