The xl 12 given to me came with the carb in the bag totally apart with a new rebuild kit but i am having some trouble of what diaphragms go where and and in what order it came with two of everything. Here is picture of it all and maybe you guys can help a dummy out. It has both thick and thin gaskets with either a rubber or plastic diaphragm -Jake

The diaphragm goes against the carb body with the thick gasket on top. The plastic one is Teflon and is a check valve diaphragm which is not used on that SDC model. The check valve diaphragm is used with the black rubber diaphragm on other SDC models.

Thank you fossil that clears everything up. No dummy. Some of the kits can be confusing. I appreciate the help but i am trying to solve a problem of the carb loading up at idle and wanting to die when the trigger is sqeezed. i have set the carb to the factory settings and i am using 32:1 mix

You might try richening up the idle mix screw by 1/8 to 1/4 turn out and go from there.

I agree with fossil, if the saw stalls out when trying to accelerate from idle, needs the low speed jet richened. You may have to raise the idle speed adjustment to bring the idle up to an acceptable level.
