Hi, I have a homelite 150 auto UT104004. It does not have spark. The coil seems to be the issue here but I can't find a replacement online. Does any know what model number coil would be good for this chainsaw?
Otherwise this saw is now junk. Thanks for your help.
Thanks

One thing I found was the plug cap on several of mine had become disconnected from the coil wire. pain but can pull out of cap and inspect. This site has some great help aids and knowledgeable homelite help.

I have two A-68649 Homelite new coils for the Homelite 150 early chain saws. It has two leads. Check with chainsawlady on the House of Homelite Messages.

I want to thank all of you with these suggestions. I can't really do much until the weekend so when I get a chance this Saturday I will let you know what I find out. Thanks again!

ere are two pics of the coil I have. As you can see it has points. There are very little hours on this saw. My father received it as a gift back in 1978 barley used it. I am going to try pulling the cap off the plug wire to see if it is still making contact. Thanks, Silverfox

I also had one with the wire rubbing on the housing going to the points from the coil.

Sort of hard to see for sure but the coil wire looks lumpy in the pictures. If it is lumpy, I would expect the insulating qualities to be poor. The rubber may have broken down due to age and exposure to oils or gas or other chemicals. That would lead me to replace the wire with new even if the spark was good.

Well I wanted to give everyone an update on my findings. Dumpster Diver was correct. That is the worst plug wire set up I have ever seen! The little piece of wire that is suppose to connect to the wire was not. I stripped some of the wire back and wrapped it around that spring and put it all together. Started right up!! This saw runs great!! Thank you everyone for your help and suggestions.
Best, Silverfox
