I noticed that the sprocket bearing race was not smooth and had two rough spots on it. The clutch plate was broke on this unit when I took it apart. In my mind the needle bearings should rotate around a smooth shaft, if this is a good assumption can I purchase just the race and bearing? If it does not matter if it is not smooth I will continue to put it back together as is. Thanks for all the great info! Attachments:

The outer surface of the race appears to be a bit rougher than it should be although it's not completely clear in the picture. They are normally very smooth. Evidently it's not too bad since the bearing needles are still in place in the bearing cage. When these bearing needles get very worn, they fall out of the cage. You could replace both parts or run them a bit longer and check the clutch drum from time to time to make sure it's not looser than it should be. It's not the end of the world if the bearing and race become fairly worn. That bearing is only active when the saw is idling or you stall it out in a cut. It's static at all other times.

Thanks for the info! Anyone have a part number for the race? Mine seems to be roughly 5/8 od and 3/8 id.

I ordered part number 65746, the diagrams for these two saws seem to be a little different than what is pictured.
