Pulled the cylinder off the 775 this morning; we have a decent cylinder again! No missing plating for a start. There's some transfer on the back wall of the cylinder, but with some work I am sure I can get it out. That and a good cleaning with a quick ball hone we should be ok. Piston had to much scoring on it for my liking so I ordered an oem off ebay. $30 shipped so I am happy. Couple rings should be on the way soon as well, and HOPEFULLY we'll be ok this time.

Piston showed up today! Disassembled the saw and installed the piston and rings. Unfortunately this nos piston didn't come with retaining rings so I am going to run to the hardware store and try and grab some if Leon doesn't have any. Cylinder is all cleaned up and honed so we are ready to go there. Also blasted and repainted the top cover and starter shroud the supplied green from Leon....looks better and will match my freshly repainted 4-20. Excited to have this thing run again.....Hopefully. haha

I do have the 55095 retainers in stock, but if your hardware store has them it'll be quicker and no shipping. Got my fingers crossed that this will be the final time you have to mess with this saw!

Awesome! I'm gonna run by the building supply and see.....if they don't have anything small enough I'll place an order late this morning. Thanks man! Fingers tightly crossed here as well. haha

Very cool man! Good to her an old beast growl it's way back to life. I don't blame you for being a little skittish about running it too hard.

Since everything is new on the top end,I wouldn't hestitate to put her to work, but only once.LOL You don't want to mess up that great paint job,or the new decals. But I do understand TJ being hesitant.

Yeah, this saw happens to have a habit of blowing up on me as this is the third piston and 2nd cylinder in under 4 months. haha First time it lost a c-clip...2nd a piece of casting broke....fair amount of money invested in this saw now, but worth it in my opinion. Should be good this time though as the piston, rings, wrist pin, and c-clips are all new. Cylinder walls are in great shape as well.

I've got another saw you might be interested in TJ.I'll try to get pics up later today. This saw is a beast too.I picked it up yesterday, maybe it's only good for parts at this point. It's an XP series, has no tags,so it probably can't be a collectible.

Probably haha It's been raining and snowing hear so I haven't been outside of the shop much at all. But when some decent weather comes around and the paint is good and cured I'll make a couple cuts with it.
