Wow, that saw was built to last. Looks like a transfer case.

Beautiful! A good soaking and brushing and hopefully the internals will clean up nicely. Dan Thanks! It is completely torn apart now minus getting the crank out of the case. Should have all parts painted up this weekend so I can order parts and have this thing running soon.

More parts painted up and she's corroded. lol Damn! That corrosion looks heavy. I hope those parts are salvageable but I don't have a good feeling on this one. Good luck.

It is pretty bad, but so far so good. I'm going to take some parts into the shop and soda blast instead of bead blast them. Hoping for the best. So far most parts with heavy corrosion have been ok.

Brass!? Great hunks of brass? And lots of big steel gears. No wonder Acres does not list a weight for that saw, Homelite was too embarrassed to publish it.

Looks great, that is a really fun saw, it will be great to have it running.
That shift fork looks like it could have come from a Delco starting motor.
Great that you are fixing it up. Thanks for sharing.

I love it.
A brake for the clutch, before shifting?
Does the clutch run wet, in the gear oil?

That is a saw I would like to run, might need some help holding it up though! Great! Very nice.
I ran an old two man at a GTG a couple of years ago, what a hoot. Scratcher chain so it was slow and two cylinders so it was all I could do to stand up straight with it. Good thing the log was propped up at a good height. Something wrong with me, I like saws and vehicles that are hard to drive. LOL
Get it running!! :{)
