As some of you may already know, I purchased from the Chainsawlady (Joyce), her Sawdust Collection (a newsletter that was sent to Homelite dealers). Soon all Homelite enthusiasts will be able to read them. I have completed scanning all of these and I am currently sorting the files. The collection starts at No.3 Dec 1952 and ends at Nov-Dec 1970. So far there are 798 pages. The newsletters have info on new models, dealer stories and info, chainsaw races and a host of other topics, with pictures. Early years were monthly, later they went bi-monthly, later yet quarterly. The issues are either 4pgs, 6pgs 8 pgs or 12 pgs. Advar There are only a couple of issues missing, No.1 (I assume Oct 1952) and No.2 (I assume Nov 1952), and No.16 Jan 1954. I have a copy of Jan 1954 but it is on the funky copy paper they used during that time (almost like brown cray paper). It is hardly even readable in my hands, and so far I have been unable to get a readable scan from it. If anyone knows a source of these issues (originals, digital copies even pics from a smart phone would work) please let me (or Leon) know and I can add them to the collection. I believe there was no issue for Sept 1955, as Aug 1955 is No.35 and Oct 1955 is No.36. There are a few other irregularities, Oct 1956 doesn't have a number, sometimes a month was skipped, later issues would fall between 2 years ect.... Leon (of www.leonschainsawpartsandrepair.com ) has agreed to add them to his website for downloading. If anyone is interested, Chainsawlady and her husband were dealer of the month in in the April 1959 issue (complete with pictures)

Undee, that's an amazing amount of work you've undertaken and I'm grateful that you are sharing this piece of Homelite history! I will be creating a new tab on the existing Homelite Literature page o that you don't have to scroll through a bunch of other stuff to find Sawdust. Once everything is up, I"ll let folks know here.

You guys are too much! Please know that your efforts are deeply appreciated. This stuff is way too good to be lost and you have come up with a plan and the drive to see that it is preserved. Thank you, THANK YOU BOTH!
I can wait, I do not wish to add to your work load. But you can bet I will be into them all. I don't have a source for any of the missing issues, I did not even know the series existed until you mentioned it.

Thanks Sawnami, but to be very clear, the effort that Greg (Undee) is putting into this project is the bulk of the work. I'm just providing server space and uploading the scanned documents. I know how long it takes to scan one page at a time...hat's off to you Greg! I know Chainsawlady is ecstatic to see this project become a reality as well!

Well you won't have to wait for long...they are live: Sawdust Newsletters One side effect of chemo is early morning insomnia, so I made the best of it by getting these posted. Thanks Greg for all your hard work! I had a problem with the 1952 file (I'll message you separately), but all the rest are up and should be ready to read. Be warned though, there is literally HOURS of good reading here!

Joyce, Greg, Leon, thank you! Found the post yesterday over on AS and thought I was dreaming. This is too good to be true. These give such a new and incredible insight into Homelite, it'll be the best Christmas gift any of us could hope for. Again, thanks for sharing and all the hard work! Merry Christmas, Dan

When you look at the time line that you guys worked on this project, it shows a commitment to your passion. I'm sure that I would be correct to say that many of us are indebted to you people who are involved. Thanks to Chainsawlady for allowing this information to be handed over to those that see the value. Leon, you mentioned the amount of reading it encompasses, I'm looking forward to dig into the print. Maybe some of the old dealers that were local here in western N.Y. would be mentioned. Thanks again to all, Jeff
