Hi all, I just need to know if I can adjust the amount of B&C oil output and if not, where does the oil meet the chain? I don't understand why the chain keeps running dry when there's plenty of oil in the reservoir. Is there any way to find a manual for a ut 10781 a from 1998, it seems a lot harder than it should be.

Do you have the original bar on it or a replacement? Take the bar off and run it to see if oil flows out of the oil port in the bar mount.
If no flow, take off the oil pump and make sure the intake port and output ports are not restricted. If not restricted, check for a stripped oil pump drive gear.
If you do have oil flow with the bar removed, check for a non-OEM bar with the oiler holes in the wrong position or maybe swapped guide plates (inside for outside).

I took the chain off and found the oil port, there's a bit of oil coming out when I give it gas, but just a few drops. I'm not sure how much oil its supposed to dispense while its running but im thinking its not enough. I stuck a paperclip in the oil port to try to clear it but I'm sure I'll have to tear it apart and check out the oil pump. Do you have a schematic or a how too guide for maintenance? Just to be clear I'm a certified 12v electrician, I work on cars all day trouble shooting things that are never suppose to break, so I'm just about half idiot. I have never worked on a chainsaw before, so with a bit of guidance, hopefully, I wont have to buy a new one before winter. Thank you
