G'day again found one more last night, it's a Homelite XL2 very sad been in the back of the shed for a long time, got it home and with a lot of cleaning inside and out it now running, but the same thing I can't work out the date, it has the numbers 5.05 4144T015 and made in Canada, and help please. Not sure about the number. Would the "T" happen to be a number instead? Is the 5.05 separate from the other numbers?

The 5.05 are 5.05 separate from the other numbers and the T maybe a 1

Thanks, will let you know how I get on, finding a lot around town, better get some photos up for you have a look at, thanks again. today find were a C51 and another XL12

If the "T" is a "1" and Canadian serial numbering system is the same, Wednesday, April 24, 1974.
