I have a very nice canadian made xl76, everything is perfect except that I can't get the manual chain oiler to pump oil? i located all new internal parts and replace the plunger, spring, check valve etc but now it is like it isn't primed? any advice would be of interest. I have put cleaner through all the passages without any problems. thanks

Have you checked the pickup hose and screen inside of the tank? Might try a little pressure in the tank by wrapping a shop towel around an air blower and pumping the oiler button while putting a little pressure into the tank.

I think that your idea to force feed the system has worked, I took the button and plunger out and force fed the system through that hole it took quite a bit of oil as I had cleaned it entirely but eventually oil came through to the bar outlet then with the button hole full I replaced the plunger and button and it now seems to be working fine. Thank you very much for the help cam
