I needed to find a throttle rod boot for my XL850, $20 or more, I don't think so, especially for a working saw . I got a little creative and made this from a foam air filter using a hole punch and a nail. Use the nail to make the clearance hole for the rod, then the hole punch to get the round "slug". It allows free movement of the throttle rod for virtually no investment. I just installed it so I am not sure of its life expectancy, but I don't see any reason it should last.

Nice, I like it. Should last as long as a foam air cleaner. Might wear some around the rod, then you will have to go to the expense of making a new one, eh?
