Picked up this EZ for parts but found it to be a runner. 150+ compression and solid as far as I can tell. I just couldn't scavenge it. after a carb rebuild it's up and running. Gonna switch it to .404 chain from 7/16. Needs muffler parts but it sounds sooo good with the straight pipe. and you know...blowin two stroke smoke!

Nice full wrap handle. Does it have a wire starter cord? Air vane governor? Does it have a HL-1A carb?

Thanks Dave,
Yes to the HL-1A Tillotson and yes to the air vane governor, but just rope on the starter, dangling as usual. Tightened that up first thing. Got the NOS .404 sprocket for it. Goin to a local guy Saturday morning for the chain...and probably a new bar. I am still needing a HS needle for the carb too. It is interchangeable with the carb on my 7-21 which is an HL-29A. That was the whole reason I got the EZ in the first place. It seems the HS/LS needles for these old carbs are hard to locate...probably nobody ever needs one. Mine vibrated out and I could not find it. Gonna see if my new local guy might have one of those too. I see you have a 7-19C. That's very similar to the EZ. I am anxious to compare the direct drive EZ to the 7-21 gear drive on a big ole' log. How do you like your 7-19C? What does the "C" mean?

From my hasty research I found a starter spring component change/upgrade...but the most major change I could find was the 7-19C had a new cylinder and corresponding exhaust/muffler component change that also became service parts for the earlier machines. One basket came with a brown carb and the other was a tillotson. Couldn't find anything else, except decals. Let you know what I think after I get it to cut straight and get the idle stop/return problem fixed.

Thanks, It runs like crazy but I had to replace the fuel tank and so it really needs paint. I had some red mixed up to match a part that was not faded. The "white" should not be too tough, I don't know what I will do for the metallic green... I got an 8 tooth sprocket rim for it, to gain some chain speed. That will go on first to see what it cuts like, then it will get paint.

Paint is secondary to how it performs. It already looks good. I'm lovin that saw. I have a blue XL-12 manual oiler, and I love it, but feel like I am looking at what it eventually evolved into...and I am likin' it.
