I am new to the site and to the chain saw world. I hope I am posting in the right thread My dad has given me a XL 76 that was his dads and has not run for yeas before I got it. I had it running even though fuel was leaking, the fuel leak was just fuel lines and a filter. I used the saw, it was working O.K. it had a miss under load at first then it cleaned it self up ran great for the next tank of fuel. After topping up the tank tried to start the saw hasn't run since then. Trying to figure it out going from the fuel system to the ignition system which both look o.k. I pulled off the muffler and can see score marks in the piston and pitting on the cylinder wall. If I had a compression tester I would have done that as well
What my question is I found a piston and cylinder but they are from a xl 123 and have a decompression valve where mine doesn't have the valve. Will it work for my XL 76 (ut-50139)
