Multiple magnets refers to engines that have additional charging system magnets that pass by the magneto coil I believe

My XL-12's all have two magnets with opposite poles facing the transformer primary(coil). I think the explanations I have read, about how the ignition system works, are technically wrong. I will offer another simple description of how my ignition system works when I am certain I have it down. Some magnetos have a single magnet, mine have two. Both types make one spark per rotation. Some of the ignition chips say they do not work with multiple magnets??? As in my XL-12's,... or as in an engine that makes two sparks per rotation? Just want to be clear. I found another way to alter the timing instead of trying to move the coil. If you have found the chip to have advanced the timing too much, try using an "offset flywheel key". Apparently you can offset the flywheel by as much as 7 or 8 degrees in some engines using these offset keys. www.foxvalleykart.com/timing2.htmlwww.foxvalleykart.com/timing1.html

Hi, Anyone looking for solid-state coils for chainsaws should try: www.standardmagneto.com/ (their website isn't the greatest. It's better to call them BUT..... Don't say " Hi, I need a coil for my homelite SEZ...." They probably can not help you... you need to ask them for a Prestolite A94111S equivalent... etc...) Here's a list of some coils they have: www.standardmagneto.com/WicoPrest/Breakerless.htmlI am not affiliated with them (just a happy customer) who purchased a SS coil for my Homelite XL-1 cost was 39.99 for the coil. It is made by them in their factory in the USA. It's probably better quality and cheaper than the ones from ebay because I have also found a Chinese manufacturer of the same coil (A94111S) Lobo
