Mikevan, thanks for the help.. do you recommend any specific brand of oil to use on this Super EZ Auto? I have a bunch of RedMaX power equiptment they all use the 50:1 RedMax oil mix I have alot of that oil, could i use that ?.. mixed at the appropriate 32:1? or should i try something else.. I dont mind having multiple gas cans either. Also how big can i go on the bar size? your link shows the correct plug is the Dj6j champion... mine has a Dj7j in it.. is that a problem?

The recommended plug for all the little EZs and Mini's is the DJ-6J and only the 150 used the DJ-7J. Any top quality 2 cycle oil will work with the exception of TCW oils. TCW is Two-cycle water and engine temperature is a lot lower in outboard motors. RedMax will be just fine: MAXLIFE ENGINE OIL Specifically designed for high-RPM, high-performance, lean-burning, air-cooled 2-stroke engines, our exceptional, synthetic-blend 2-stroke engine oil formulation is considered a top performer in the outdoor power equipment industry. Notice it specifically says "high-RPM" and "air-cooled." Those are the two key item. The mix ratio is somewhat debatable. Oil technology has improved the oil for two cycle engines. In the '50s and '60s the standard mix was 16:1 of non-detergent 30 wt. motor oil. In the '70s Homelite added 32:1 oil which was 40 wt. oil. As the oil quality improved and formulated specifically for 2 cycle use, some engines could run 100:1 mix. Running the engine lean, meaning the mixture setting of the H and L jets, raises combustion temperature and that, along with using oxygenated gas which also raises combustion temperature, can lead to problems. The little EZ along with all the older Homelites, have chrome plated cylinders and roller or ball bear supports. Can you run them at 50:1? Probably. My Dad did all the time. I've been running 40:1 and it works out nice. One pint into 5 gal. One other thing that is related to engine temperature is to keep the cooling fins cleaned out.

Good tips from MCS. A 16" bar is plenty for these saws, if you're cutting stuff so big a 16 won't work, you need a larger saw.

another fellow SEZ owner here.
I always run 50:1 in all my two-stroke stuff. SEZ has held up pretty good so far, a couple (one pretty big) firewood jobs. I have not yet noticed a difference in the 32:1 I first ran in it and this mix.
I just recently put an Oregon bar and Chain on my saw, Bought it offline for 30 bucks give or take. 16" is about right for this saw, though I think it could take an 18" just fine.

Thankyou everyone for your tips and knowledge! 1 last question I understand that the Dj6j plug is the one that is supposed to be in the Super EZ auto... Like I said before when I bought this saw it had the Dj7j plug in it! Is this just the wrong plug or were you able to use this plug also? Or is Dj6j the only one you can use

Another question... Please bear with me.. I'm going to use my redmax oil in the super ez auto.... Now that oil is a 50:1 mix! Can I just use my Ratio Rite and make that oil whatever ratio I will need? So can I just pour out 4oz and put that in a 1 gallon container? Or is this oil for 50:1 only?

That will work. 4 oz in a gallon is 32:1. Usually when oil is labeled as 50:1 that is the leanest mixture the oil manufacturer recommends. As I mentioned before, some two cycles will run down to 100:1 but you have to use an oil that support this. The service code of the oil is what determines part of this. RedMax has this: MaxLife engine oil is fully compatible with EPA and C.A.R.B. requirements and exceeds the highest ISO-LEGD and JASO M345/FD 2-stroke oil requirements.

chainsawlady still has quite a few parts so make a list of what you need and get a posting under the HoH Hardware store.
