billg. Picked up a nasty looking 28" bbl mdl. 12 at a auction once. Cyl. bore! It was an old farm gun that I guess sat in the corner of a room most of the time. The buttstock was soft from oil. Apparently the owner oiled it on a regular basis. Apparently he also had a dusty home too! The dust and oil combined through the years looked like dark corrosion. A thumbnail scratch on the barrel and I knew it had potential. When I walked away with it for $215 the competing bidder remarked I can't believe you paid that for such a POS. Got the piece home and w/ fine steel wool and light oil, a little time and now enjoy a great 95 -98% cylinder bore m12.

billg. Did you get my pm or the email w/ Heston's collection? Yes that was a nice pic. I wonder what will become of it, I cannot help but wonder if it will come through the auction house here. We have a world renown firearm auction house. Bill

Not that this has to do with anything, but I had a primer blow out in my AK today, all in all, pretty cool. I got a mess of scrap ammo for the powder and bullets and mixed in were some rounds that look pretty good, and some that look better than this. Took some of the better ones out today and was shooting away and alla sudden Whap/Poof......SMOKE!!! Smoke everywhere, poring out of the top cover and out of the trigger guard and mag well. I were like WTF? Took me a while to find the case, but I did and it blew the primer dimple clean out. Thats all.... .

Cool, to have such an event and no ER visit is good. I recently had surgery to remove the last of some 30 year old copper and lead fragments from the back of my neck. It wasn't fun, but easier than when my Ex poked around and pulled them out when they were fresh.

Wow, that is quite a collection! I love military stuff. Someone mentioned Charlton Heston's collection was that stuff his? My favorite are the cheap chintzy tube receiver sub-guns, I don't know what the draw is, I just think there cool.

Kinda wish I had the blowout on camera, but it seems like cameras up the possibilities of things going wrong some how.

It wasn't fun, but easier than when my Ex poked around and pulled them out when they were fresh. Back of the neck? Yoo shootin gangsta style? Nah, I'm too straight to shoot sideways. It was a 7.62 of some kind, it passed through two car doors and hit a tractor wheel and showered me with fragments. I sent half a dozen 240s down range and slithered out of there. It was a case of mistaken identity, they thought I was someone else, my twin. Kinda wish I had the blowout on camera, but it seems like cameras up the possibilities of things going wrong some how.

Bill, that's a great pic. of the late Heston's basement but the one I was trying to copy and paste, which apparently won't work here, is of a Glock with the muzzle engraved....."Smile Wait for Flash". Thanks anyway. Do I have to download photos and then pull them from my documents file or what? I tried to copy and paste links and photos. What's the trick with photo and link posting to this site? ?? I'll need to know when I get around to putting one of the sprocket kits in a homelite bar anyway so I might as well practice a bit. Thanks again.
